NEW HEIGHTS was born out of a convergence of ministry vision.  The North Alabama Conference of the UMC bolstered its dedication to disciple making through church planting.  Asbury United Methodist Church demonstrated its unselfish commitment to the Great Commission, committing itself to supporting a new church near its own community.  Keith Beatty knew that he had been called by God to start a new church.   All three visions met in June 2006 when Keith Beatty was appointed to start NEW HEIGHTS.
          
From the beginning NEW HEIGHTS’ vision has been to reach beyond itself.  Modeling Jesus’ command to love God and love neighbor, our purpose is to reach for new heights by reaching up to God and by reaching out to others.   So the church name, NEW HEIGHTS, was selected for its God-given purpose.

NEW HEIGHTS began in June 2006 with Keith, his wife, and children.  In the following months, several informational events were hosted throughout the community.  In January 2007, the first launch team meetings were hosted on Sunday evenings in what is now our MINISTRY CENTER location.  July 07 NEW HEIGHTS began hosting its first worship services on Sunday morning.  In September preview worship services were offered at Chelsea Park Elementary, and in December NEW HEIGHTS launched its grand opening with 120 people in attendance.

NEW HEIGHTS is committed to making a difference in our community and beyond.  Our story is still being written through God’s work in the hearts of his children.  We invite you to become part of this story as we continue to reach for NEW HEIGHTS…
